At Advanced Smile Care, we’re proud to have Dr. Thomas leading our team, building upon the 40-year legacy established by Dr. Gerald Crouch and expanded by Dr. Jason Kboudi. Dr. Thomas brings his exceptional education, specialized training in IV sedation, and genuine passion for patient-centered care to every procedure. Dr. Thomas’s Professional Background & Achievements
Dr. Thomas began his academic journey at the University of Washington, graduating in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in Chemistry. His path to dentistry took an interesting detour when he worked as a web developer for several years, developing technical skills and problem-solving abilities that would later complement his dental practice.
When he decided to focus his career on healthcare, Dr. Thomas moved to New York City in 2003 to attend the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry, graduating in 2007. He further refined his skills through a comprehensive one-year General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, gaining valuable experience in various aspects of dental care.

Dr. Thomas has consistently pursued advanced education throughout his career, completing numerous workshops with the highly respected Spear Education group. These intensive training sessions focus on comprehensive treatment planning, aesthetic dentistry, and complex restorative cases.
In 2014, recognizing the needs of patients with dental anxiety, Dr. Thomas obtained certification to perform IV sedation. This specialized training allows him to provide comprehensive dental care to those who might otherwise avoid necessary treatment due to fear, reflecting his commitment to making dental care accessible to all patients.

Dr. Thomas practiced in the Greater NYC/Long Island area for 11 years before returning to San Antonio in 2018. During this time, he built a reputation for excellence in comprehensive care and gained recognition for his work with anxious patients.
