Dr. Cavazos received his Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2001 from the University of Chicago. He then moved back to Texas and joined Teach for America. During this time, Dr. Cavazos earned a Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas Pan American in 2006. In 2010, Dr. Cavazos graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School and then continued to complete a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program.

Over the years of education and professional continued education, he has gained extensive training in dental implants, oral surgery, periodontics, dental bridges, dentures and is certified to perform IV conscious sedation. Thanks to his involvement with the Academy of Sports Dentistry, he is trained in the recognition, prevention and management of sports related dental trauma.
Since 2012, he has served alongside numerous local dentists in over 7 local Dentistry from the Heart events at various offices in San Antonio. He has volunteered his time at Texas Mission of Mercy Clinics through the TDA Smiles Foundation.
