After residency, Dr. Thomas practiced in the Greater NYC/Long Island area for 11 years. He expanded his knowledge in dentistry with continuing education and took courses and workshops with the highlyrespected Spear Education group. His goal has always been to be able to change the narrative about the dentist and provide a calm, comfortable place for patients. That’s why he became certified to perform IV sedation in 2014, which enabled Dr. Thomas to provide comprehensive dental care to those with dental anxiety.
In the fall of 2018, he returned home to San Antonio to find a practice where he could provide dental care to patients who struggle with fear. Dr. Thomas is a strong proponent of using top-tier technology to improve a patient’s experience and education. Most important, he believes the most “advanced” aspect of a dental practice is the strong relationship and bond built with our patients.
During those rare moments in a week when he is not at Advanced Smile Care, you’re likely to find Dr. Thomas in front of a TV and watching his local teams. He is an avid fan of the University of Texas Longhorns and the San Antonio Spurs. He also loves exploring new restaurants and hopes to eventually find time to travel to new parts of the world.
Dr. Thomas is thrilled to have the opportunity to be leading one of San Antonio’s most respected dental practices and feels he has come full circle with an opportunity down the street from where he grew up. He continues to build upon the legacy, the tradition, and the values of highquality care created by Dr. Gerald Crouch when he founded Advanced Smile Care 40 years ago and expanded by Dr. Jason Kboudi.
